There is nothing sadder in this life than to let someone you love walk away. To watch the distance between your two bodies expand until there is nothing left but empty space and silence is perhaps the most painful thing to feel and see. But in my case, i am just as happy to see us walk away because i know somehow, i have been loved by that love and in my heart and soul are many beautiful memories to cherish and remember. And as for all the fights, pains we caused each other and the mistakes we did, i know in due time, all these will be healed and our hearts will be whole again to love and live life in love.
I used to define love in so many ways and words. But you came and finally gave it its proper meaning. You’ll always be that person . . that person who shown me love, who gave me the best meaning to it. We know that life is a journey of experiences. We meet many people each day. Some of them we forget the next day while some we cherish throughout our lives. Though loss, mistakes and failures have been part of my journey, I am happy to know that they also taught me what was most precious.
I learned a lot from this love. I realized that at times, we should let love come slowly. Let’s not constantly keep putting on the red light, drive on yellow instead. Both life and love are like hide and seek. We spend our whole lives looking for love but when we finally forget to look for it, that’s when we’ll find it. Looking back, i can say that in love and relationships, beginnings are usually scary, endings are usually sad, but the middle part is what really counts. True enough, we were most happy in the middle. With all the mistakes we made, shortcomings, immaturity in the relationship and the education, realization and growth which came after, love indeed is a noble act of self-giving offering trust, faith and loyalty. The more you love, the more you lose a part of yourself yet you don’t become less of who you are instead you end up becoming a better version of your own self making you more complete.
Sometimes, a rose is destined to love a thorn. Sometimes a thorn is destined to love a a rose. But at some points in life, a rose is taken out from all the thorns for it to remain a beautiful sight and be more beautiful while thorns are meant to stay the way they are to serve as a reminder that something beautiful needs to be taken cared of and guarded. There is a beautiful line once from the movie “Paycheck” that says, ” some of the best things in life are total mistakes.” If it was a mistake loving you, then ‘ill proudly say that you were the best mistake i ever made.
